Hi everyone, my name is Paolo Olivari, Co.Art Director and Lead Environment Artist from the new survival horror game "Tormented Souls 2"
I share with you part of the development and creation process of the environments for the video game released in October 2025.
The Town (Tormented Souls 2)

The town of Villa Hess was meant to represent the values of the people who lived there. Its spaces are inspired by Chilean architecture, with the goal of creating greater immersion and making the player feel integrated into a location in southern Chile.
Iconic and characteristic aspects of the country are included to reinforce the essence of what a town in southern Chile is like.
In addition, part of the town’s essence was meant to convey abandonment and desolation, where darkness and a sense of terror are present in every corner. All of this supports the classic survival horror concept, making every view the player sees contain some detail that can capture their attention.
The creation process was based on the development of modular asset sets, as well as material sets, including both baked textures and tileable textures.
